SMTP

SMTP 全名 Simple Mail Transfer Protocol ，為 Internet 傳遞電子郵件的協定。

以下是一個典型的 SMTP 交談，顯示 mail.example.com 想傳遞一封電子郵件給 peter@hpot.foo-example.net 時的 SMTP 交談過程：

伺服器	`220 mail.hpot.foo-example.net ESMTP Postfix`
客端	`HELO mail.example.com`	客端表明自己的身份
伺服器	`250 mail.hpot.foo-example.net`
客端	`MAIL FROM: <fred@example.com>`	寄信人地址
